The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class includes a mix of iconic rock bands, legendary solo artists, and groundbreaking innovators. Cyndi Lauper, a standout female artist, is among the seven inductees. She has been recognized for her unique presence in the music industry. The full list of 2025 inductees was revealed during the live broadcast of the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night” episode on American Idol on April 27.

When Is the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony?
The official induction ceremony will take place on November 8, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. You can stream the ceremony live on Disney+. The next day, Hulu will provide the full ceremony for on-demand viewing. Additionally, ABC will air a condensed version at a later, yet-to-be-announced date.
Notable Nominees Miss Out in 2025
This year, several well-known nominees did not make the cut for induction. Artists such as The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Maná, Phish, Mariah Carey, Oasis, and Joy Division/New Order did not receive enough votes. These artists were nominated for the first time this year, except for Joy Division/New Order, who were nominated in 2023.
Who Won the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Fan Vote?
Phish, the veteran jam band, won the fan vote with over 330,000 votes. They beat Bad Company by approximately 50,000 votes. However, despite strong fan support, Phish did not gain induction this year. This marks the second time in recent years that a fan vote winner did not get inducted, as Dave Matthews Band experienced the same outcome in 2020 before being inducted in 2024.

Though the fan vote plays a significant role, it does not guarantee induction. Each of the top seven fan vote winners received one additional vote toward their total.
Additional Honors at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
In addition to the performer inductees, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will also honor others for their significant contributions to music. This year, Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award. Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye will be recognized for their Musical Excellence. Lenny Waronker, a renowned producer and DreamWorks/Warner Bros. Records executive, will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Salt-N-Pepa will also perform as part of a tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
Eligibility for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction
To be eligible for induction, an artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to their nomination. Over 1,200 voting members, including artists, historians, and music industry professionals, participate in the selection process.
